Luscious Lips - How to Maintain Beautiful Lips Throughout the Year

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

By Livia Mercer The onset of winter generally means dryer skin and this is noticed most on your lips. Not only do lips have the thinnest skin on them but they have almost no sebaceous (oil) glands and absolutely no sweat glands. Add to this the fact that lips lose 3-10 times more moisture than the other parts of the face, so no wonder we have dry lips. What do most of us instinctively do when we have dry lips? Yes, we lick them. Making the problem worse, because the saliva actually eats away that precious thin skin layer we have on our lips, therefore making the lips drier, even to the point of cracking and bleeding. Avoid getting to this state at all costs. Step 1) Always, always keep your lips hydrated! Even at night. Get into the habit of applying lip cream or lip balm as part of your skincare routine. Personally I choose not to use a lip balm with an SPF at night as you don’t need it but I prefer ones with vitamin A or E in them to nourish the lips. You will find that smooth, moist lips will hold lip gloss or lipstick the best. Step 2) Create the right foundation! To make sure your lips always look their best without any bleeding of the colour or simply disappeared lipstick, you need a little preparation. This works well both for lipsticks and lip glosses. A: Apply foundation all over your lips. B: With lip liner, colour in the whole lip area, not just the outline. C: It is always best to stick to your natural lip line initially. Once your natural shape is established you can, very carefully even out the lips or extend the outline. Be Cautious when doing this as there is nothing worse than seeing an unnatural lip line. Step 3) Colour in the masterpiece! A: Apply your colour starting at the centre of your lips and thinning the colour out towards the corners of your mouth. B: So you don’t end up wearing your lipstick on your teeth, place your index finger in your mouth, close your lips around it and pull it out. This is a fantastic way to remove any excess colour. Make sure you wipe your finger; otherwise you will end up with the colour on your clothes. Step 4) Budge proof your lipstick! Personally I’m not a big fan of long last lipsticks as these generally are drier formulations and make my lips uncomfortably dry especially in winter. So to budge proof your lipstick, follow these steps. A: After applying your colour, blot with a tissue. B: Lightly powder your lips with a brush or a puff. C: Reapply colour. Following these steps will ensure you never again will experience dry, cracked, chapped lips. What’s more your lips will look glamorous no matter what the occasion! The Lowdown On Choosing An Online Nursing Degree

Friday, September 14th, 2007

By Sara Reed When choosing an online nursing degree, there are a few items one should consider. There are many colleges that offer online degrees. This means that a person can choose a program that is right for them without having to sacrifice classes or aspects of a program they really like. The first step to choosing an online program is to decide what it is that a person wants to get out of the program. Online programs are convenient, but if a person is not learning everything they can, then the program is not worth it. Look at the course catalog to find classes that are of interest. Then compare classes with other classes offered in another program. Many times, the classes are similar, but there may be one or two that a person would prefer over other classes offered. The second step when choosing an online nursing degree program is to talk to admissions and find out the steps needed to enroll and find out other things like cost, time to complete courses, and other incidentals that are not on the web site or in the brochure. Many times its the little items that can be the deciding factor in choosing the right program. Setting up a phone interview may be necessary, but will be worth the time. Room for advancement into other nursing programs is also an option that a person may be interested in when choosing an online nursing degree program. Many nursing programs offer advanced degrees in nursing. This is great for those who will want to go on after graduation. It will also be easier to begin a new program at the same college. Paperwork and other information are already on file and will not need to be filled out again. Convenience is important when choosing an online program. To find out more about finding an online nursing program, Sara Reed recommends Nursing Online Degree. Get In Career Shape

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

By Althea DeBrule Research suggests that as many as 8 out of 10 employed adults are in the wrong job or career! They are in poor career-shape or have little or no career-stamina. If you are one of the 8 or your goal is to shape up, it is important to have a good understanding of some basic career management principles for a healthy career workout and to help you make the best decisions about your career on a day-by-day basis. Career Fitness Tips Here are 10 proven tips to maximize your career-workout: Set Goals You Know You Can Reach. Keep your goals realistic. Unrealistic goals leave many people feeling like a failure even after a career success. Rather than feeling good about what has been accomplished, many feel dissatisfied because they have not yet attained their dream career. To manage your expectations, set reasonable goals that can be worked on and achieved. Divide your career goals into manageable pieces. Bite off only what you can chew at any given moment. Resist the urge to multi-task when working on your career goals. If you overdo it and push yourself by trying to accomplish everything at once, you will become discouraged and lose your motivation. Work On Your Goals One At A Time. Prioritize your career goals and then work to achieve the first one. Continue to tackle each subsequent goal by completing it before starting the next one. Before you know it you will have accomplished all of your career objectives. Make Modest Changes To Your Work Habits. There are a number of baby steps you can take to advance your career. Instead of fantasizing about the perfect career, apply creative thinking and implement a few quick wins to boost your career. Develop A Career Roadmap. A career roadmap helps you find the best route or direction to take to achieve your career objectives. List the actions you will take to ensure an interesting, challenging and rewarding career that uses your best strengths and natural talents. Increase Your Focus. To stay challenged and to progress towards your ultimate career goal, gradually increase the intensity and focus your efforts as you follow your Career Roadmap. Make It A Whole-Person Experience. Your career is more than just one or a series of jobs. A well-rounded career includes a balance of healthy personal relationships, work, and recreation (fun). To avoid boredom, make sure you include others who have a stake in your career and activities you truly enjoy. Celebrate. Whenever you achieve a goal, do something nice for yourself. Make sure its more than just a pat on the back or verbal acknowledgement; make it worthwhile. Consult A Career Management Specialist. If youre serious about advancing your career, hire a professional to help you get the most from your career activities and to motivate you to stick with your plans. Get A Career Fitness Partner. Find a mentor or colleague who is willing to be your career fitness partner. Choose someone who will motivate and challenge you when you want to quit. Or, form a support group with co-workers who share similar career interests. As you begin to use these tips, they may at first feel burdensome. However, with a little effort and continued use, they will become second nature. The Glycaemic Index (G.I) Revolution

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

By Gavin Andrew Grech Over past decades there has been a great deal of research into glycaemic index, and it has been established that different carbohydrate foods have very different effects on blood sugar levels. This can be very useful for weight loss, managing diabetes, decreasing the risk heart disease and increasing athletic ability. Only a few years ago scientists believed that complex carbohydrates such as rice and potatoes were slow digesting foods which only caused a small rise in blood sugar levels. Alternatively sugars caused rapid increases in blood sugar levels. G.I research has changed these beliefs and changed the way that nutritionists think about carbohydrates. Research found has that many starchy foods such as bread and potatoes are digested and absorbed very quickly and that many sugary foods are not responsible for high sugar levels. The glyceamic index was developed to rank foods based on there effect on the bodies blood sugar levels. The carbohydrates that are digested very fast and release sugar quickly into the bloodstream have a high G.I and foods that digest slowly and release sugar gradually into the bloodstream have a low G.I rating. The carbohydrate that has the greatest effect on blood sugar levels is glucose which has a G.I of 100 and every other food is ranked below by the effect on blood glucose levels. So how can you benefit from low G.I foods? The slow digestion and small rise and fall in blood sugar levels will reduce the amount of the hormone insulin released into your blood in turn make it easier to burn digested fat and less likely to store it. These foods are more satisfying and reduce your appetite due to the slow release of energy. It is not hard to change your diet and eat low G.I foods. The most suitable and sensible way is to simple substitute high G.I foods with low G.I food. There are good alternatives to your high G.I foods on the market so smart shopping is the key to improving you diet. HIGH G.I CHOICES BREAD Regular, smooth textured wholemeal or white RICE Most Australian grown long and short grain rices POTATOES Most, including Coliban, Sebago and Desiree CEREALS Most processed breakfast cereals BISCUITS Most biscuits and crackers TROPICAL FRUITS Mango, pineapple LOW G.I ALTERNATIVE Dense breads containing a lot of whole grains, sourdough and stone ground flower breads Long gran Basmati, Doongara and imported Japonica rice Sweet potato, yam, taro, pasta including noodles, legumes of all types and whole grains. Rolled oats, semolina, muesli, certain processed cereals e.g. All Bran Biscuits made with dried fruit, oats and wholegrainTemperate climate fruit such as apples, stone fruit and citrusThe glycaemic index is not only beneficial to those trying to manage there weight or diabetes, it can be advantageous to the sports person too. It can be very important to athletes that participate in very strenuous form of exercise for longer than 90 minutes, during events like running or cycling. BEFORE EXERCISING Low GI foods are best before exercising these foods should be eaten roughly two hours before any endurance exercise. The slow rate of carbohydrate digestion in low G.I foods will guarantee slow and steady increase of glucose into the bloodstream during the exercise. The extra glucose is then available when needed towards the end of the exercise, when muscle carbohydrate stores are running low. DURING EXERCISING During long exercise many sports people supplement their carbohydrate by consuming sugars like those in sports drinks and bananas. These foods are high G.I and will provide a fast source of glucose needed for the exercising muscles. This extra carbohydrate consumption during the exercise extends endurance for a lot longer than otherwise possible. Sports drinks are ideal during the exercise because they replace water and electrolytes as well. Jelly beans are also a good option during any endurance exercise. AFTER EXERCISING It is important to replenish glucose stored in the muscle as soon as possible after exercise. High G.I foods are the best for this since they are digested and absorbed much faster. If you want to keep up the pace or just want to shed a few extra kilograms, you will benefit from using the glycaemic index to select appropriate foods at appropriate times. The G.I can be the means to improved greater sports performance, fast recovery, and weight management. http://www.wholebody.com.au WholeBody is more than a supplements store - we are dedicated to excellence in accurate body building, fitness, and nutrition and lifestyle information. Recent International Innovations - Rules And Regulations To Operate And Clean Public Swimming Pools

Monday, September 10th, 2007

By Ben Joseph Each country has different regulations in regards to operating cleaning, disinfecting and filtering public swimming pools. In Denmark for example the rules and regulations are extremely limited and the government shifts the responsibility to the swimming pool operators. In Germany the rules and regulations are written by the standards institute and each municipality adopts the rules it deems important. In France the regulations are dictated to all the provinces from the government, the rules are very detailed in regards to sanitary aspects, however, they are not technical. In Spain the regulations are dictated by the local municipalities and the rules are very similar to the ones in France. In the United states and England professional swimming pools unions write very detailed recommendations and the local health departments adopt these recommendations and add their own supplements. In the former soviet Union the rules and regulations are country wide, very specific and include operating rules and instructions. In recent years swimming pools operators around the world prefer to use ozone-generator (combined with chlorine) to disinfect the waters. Ozone in the water or in the air is dangerous to humans, therefore, disinfecting the water with ozone has to be done in a separate container and after the filtration and disinfection process is completed all the ozone has to be removed from the treated water before transferring them back to the swimming pool. A latest innovation is the ozone generator, the generator disinfect the water without the need for separate container, and the benefit is when this generator is used, a very minimal chemicals are needed to disinfect the water, which saves money in the long term, and there is no eyes irritation due to the low chlorine. Health - Depression & Broken Heart

Monday, September 10th, 2007

By Teow Aun Chew You dont have to suffer in silence. In most cases of panic attack, it usually starts with depression. A female reporter in Hong Kong who successfully juggled the demands of writing for publications around the world suddenly suffered panic attack. She often had panic attacks as she was overwhelmed by feelings of isolation, hopelessness, inadequacy and failure. She would always excuse herself and pretended to have urgent private calls to make so that she could get out and calm down. A cartoonist for a famous Japanese magazines; suddenly hit a dry spell in 1986 and she was afraid to get out of bed in the morning. She stopped eating and lost seven kilos within a few days. She was left without getting any assignments for a month and spent her time lying in bed, smoking and drinking and was overwhelmed with thoughts of dying. Both the female reporter and cartoonist were suffering from clinical depression. There are millions of people like them and they kept the illness to themselves. In Japan alone there are more than six millions people suffering from depression according to Dr Takahashi Toru of the Toru Clinic in Tokyo. It is estimated that one in 13 people aged 24 to 64 suffered from depression according to a study done by Singapore National Mental Health survey. We seldom hear about depression just thirty years ago but the world is different now. People were different then, but presently many human beings have lost their value of life. Many have lost their conscience and killing is everywhere. People live in fear from many kinds of threats and even in the comfort of their homes, danger is there. There is no peace even to just go marketing for fresh vegetables. A bomb may explode anytime, anyplace. Financial security is one of the main causes for depression. Jobless people or those hardly can make end meet, are usually victims of depression which can after some time of suffering start to have panic attacks. Depressive disorders range from dysthymia low grade, chronic depression to bipolar disorder, or manic depression, which causes extreme swings between depressive lows and manic high. Depression remains widely misunderstood and sufferers lead a double life. One minute full of confidence and another minute worse than a little mouse when panic attack. Depression is a taboo among Chinese and if people know that you are depressed, they will avoid you. I should say broken heart is the worst mental blues and almost everyone gets the blues once in a lifetime. Those who have not experience it are lucky or maybe they have never fallen in love before. They will not be able to grasp the anguish depression brings. Its so emotionally intense that it paralyses you and says one sufferer, You never know when it will end, the pain is so overwhelming that you want to end it all. People will sometimes give advice with the best intentions for broken heart but says Siti Mohammad, a young female accountant who has lived with depression for much of her life: Sometimes my relatives will tell me to look at the positive side of things. They say, You have to be strong and believe in God. They make it sound as if I could just snap out of it. If it was that simple, I wouldnt be like this. Depression is often inadequately treated or not treated at all because the truth of broken heart may not be admitted by the sufferers. For instance, many Malays believe the emotions lie in the liver and will complain about stomach soreness rather than admit to depression. Among the Chinese, the heart is often seen as the source of emotions, so they complain about chest discomfort. Singapore National Universitys Kua says these cultural factors lead to misdiagnosis or no diagnosis at all in as many as one-third of cases. For the elderly, physical ailments can mask symptoms of depression (it is often confused with Alzheimers disease), and there is a belief, even in the medical community, that depression is simply a fact of an older persons life. According to a study conducted in the 1980s by Dr Lee Aik Hoe, president of the Malaysian Mental Health Association, showed that three-quarters of people who had attempted suicide also suffered from depression. Rose Lees depression nearly killed her. As a teenager, she tumbled into a black pit and said, I was severely depressed the pain was terrible. It seemed logical to kill myself. Richard Ng of Kuala Lumpur said he lost his father to suicide. He displayed signs of depression being withdrawn and losing his appetite signs that I recognized but did nothing about, but when he committed suicide, I was shattered. The road to recovery is a tough one but it can be treated. If it is not because of broken heart, then the chances of recovery is good with medication. If it is because of broken heart, then there is no medicine that can cure a broken heart. There are many drugs that physicians can prescribe and certain antidepressants really work effectively so as to allow the sufferers to get on with life. But drug may have side effects like insomnia and sexual dysfunction, professional help is advised in such a case to take the right type and also avoid the risk of taking an overdose. One of the best rescues is interpersonal and cognitive counselling. Therapy can help to change a patients thinking and reappraise their external circumstances. Interpersonal therapy focuses on specific-related problems, while cognitive therapy tries to counter the feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness that plague those who are depressed. In Malaysia the Befrienders is doing an excellent voluntarily job to make life worth living. The 24-hour helpline, modelled on the Samaritans in the United Kingdom, is one of the oldest services in Asia. It has more than 200 volunteers and fielded 24,000 calls a year. Suicide is a grave sin according to spiritual teachings in almost every religion. Certain religion says that if a person commits suicide, he will also commit suicide for his next seven future lives. I had a relative who committed suicide many years ago. She was one of the most beautiful women in my hometown and married to one of the richest men there. Very fortunate during her younger days because of her beauty, but when her husband passed away early in life, she was cheated of everything she possessed by a conman who only wanted her properties. Unable to take the pain of her broken heart and loss of all her possessions, she took her life. Author: T.A Chew T.A Chew had gone through a very severe broken heart in 1993. Fortunately six months before it happened, Goddess of Mercy showed him a miracle and he realized that Heaven loves him more and it is unconditional love. He understands very well the pain and it is only through doing good deeds and meritorious works that broken hearts can be mended fast. Why Diets Are A Waste Of Time & Money - What You Can Do Instead

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

By Paul Wilson A ‘diet’ is always seen as a temporary measure. An unpleasant episode that must be endured in order to reach some weight target, often in time for a major event such as a wedding, your own or your children’s. Afterwards, with a big sigh of relief that its over, we get back to normal eating. In what seems no time at all, especially if a holiday is involved, the weight is back where it was, and you wonder; was it worth it? The truth about diets is that they train us to “live on less” so normal food is now far too much. Many people have managed to get to their chosen weight and then find that they cannot come off the diet without putting the weight back on. They are trapped in a regime of half starvation and misery. Their life revolves around how much can they eat and when they eventually break, which they always do, they eat like it was an Olympic event. The answer is simple - just eat slightly less for all of the time. It may be slower than you would like but it works, and its forever not just for Christmas or weddings. If you reduce the fat content of your ‘normal’ food you can eat an enormous amount of other stuff, so you won’t feel hungry. You will actually eat less calories without eating less food. Avoiding fat is easy. Obvious targets are dairy fats and margarines. Spread butter or margarine thinly, or buy fat-reduced spreads, or even better, try without. It works for sandwiches with lettuce and tomato to provide some moisture but I’d rather have some spread on my toast than just jam. Trim the fat off your meat and bacon before cooking. Try semi-skimmed milk and then progress to the fully skimmed. Ignore the slightly grey colour and enjoy its increased calcium and vitamins compared to the greasy un- skimmed product. Vegetarians should also be aware that many vegetable-based products could be as heavy in fat as those that are meat based. Biscuits are generally very high in fat, typically around 25% but much higher again if chocolate coated. The problem with biscuits is that you can easily take in a substantial part of your daily calories without feeling as though you have eaten anything but a few mouthfuls. If you need a snack have some fruit instead or low fat yoghurt. Attention! Is it Time to Rewrite the Holy Books? (2)

Friday, September 7th, 2007

By Elaine Sihera For years afterwards I pondered on what kind of religion thrives on perpetual, personal unhappiness for its gratification. What kind of godliness seeks merely to cause pain and anguish when one’s time on earth is so short? What kind of worship concentrates only on the negative and nasty things of life so that confessions of sins take precedence over confessions of goodness? What kind of god prefers someone living in a hell of a marriage, or in ’sin’, and depriving themselves of love and affection in preference to starting all over again with a new partner in mutual blessing and spiritual joy? What god indeed prevents females from developing themselves to the fullest, condemning them to a life of inequality? Could it be the same one found in the holy books which were written by men, for a male dominated society, to fuel the power of men, while deliberately repressing the development of women to avoid any competition, and deny them their rights to ensure the continuity of unchallenged male power and control? The Bible is God’s word, I am frequently told. But who guaranteed it to be so? How do we really know? It was truly inspired writing, that is certain, by people who felt a deep need to shout their feelings to the world - and we are told they had the benefit of God actually walking among them! But as it has mainly been based on word of mouth, no one in our age can ever say for sure. And if we live by what the Bible says to the letter, to the exclusion of all else, not only would we still be doing some pretty violent things to our fellowmen, but could we also not be missing the inspiration of our own prophets in our own age? Which age has a monopoly on a direct link to God? How do we know that new prophets and disciples are not being nurtured now? In fact, could we have stopped listening to God because we have become so enmeshed in our own arrogant web of self-sufficiency and the straitjacket of self-righteousness and outdated beliefs, we are far removed from what God might want of us? The Bible is etched on my memory to such an extent, having been immersed in it at an impressionable stage in my life, that whole passages - beautiful ones about charity and love, and nasty ones about brimstone fire float about regularly. I also remember every book in the Bible since my rote learning over 40 years ago! Yet I cannot identify with it in any way. As I do love God, I am constantly plagued by what sort of god not only looks like one race of people, carefully matching each ethnic group, but only mentions those of one colour in His special book, making me, and millions like me, non-existent, especially if he is responsible for all of us, we are made in his image and likeness and he loves us all equally! What sort of god punishes the faithful while those who couldn’t care less hardly seems to be punished at all? Preserving and Maintaining Control There is no doubt that Christian ideals are under seige, especially with the gay and women’s issues, because there are too many anomalies in their execution. But that is the problem with any unchanging and inflexible religion which is created and dominated by one group or one gender in society. It reflects only their likenesses and belief, tolerating no examination or criticisms. Interpretations tend to be dogmatic, insular, being favourable only to the interpreters, in order to preserve and maintain their control of God’s word. Years from my childhood, human beings are still not allowed to be fallible, to enjoy their life as given, otherwise they will be punished severely and forever. We must be perfect beings in God’s sight, there being little godly love available for any defaulter. Yet, if all God wants are people to punish, then it can’t be the same God I worship. I am a very spiritual person and I have always felt close to my God, guided and blessed by Him daily in my life. Regardless of my actions I have never felt that I would be punished. As long as I am not offending anyone, I have never felt that I have sinned. Maybe this is because my God is one who values everyone, regardless of gender, or race, sexuality or attitude, strength or weakness. Being naturally superior, he does not need to punish us weaklings for using the assets and brains He gave us! In fact, I have always felt there would be forgiveness, love and patience - and not in another life either, but right here and now! I have been so loved and protected throughout my life, it is difficult to explain this to a non-believer and I have not even encouraged my children to share it. If they do not understand my feelings, they would only pay lip service to please me. They have to discover it for themselves too. My gradual change in life pattern, emphasising how I treat my fellowmen here on earth, with respect, care and value, seems light years away from the constant guilt and hopelessness I felt as a youngster when blind acceptance of vows made when I was too young set me unquestioningly on the path of a spiritual hand-me-down, devoid of personal appreciation or meaning. Living in a manner which reflects my love, faith and beliefs is the greatest gift of God and it should speak louder than superficial words mumbled in church just before I go out and vilify my neighbour. Trapped and in Anguish Each human being is unique, unlike any other. Why should we be cloned in a religious mass of stultifying conformity? A group of people offers only support, mutual friendship and recognition of our feelings. They should not dictate our spirituality. Each of us is responsible for our own souls, making our dealings with our God an intensely personal matter. If you feel trapped and anguished by your faith, more comfortable with hatred than love, instead if peace, tranquility and a sense of purpose, you may be worshipping the wrong god, reading from the wrong book or associating with the wrong people who would seek to control your soul through threats and hell fire than with love and peace. It could be time to examine what your holy book is saying and ask precisely what relevance it has to you as a child of the 21st century - for your life, aspirations and expectations. Whether men who practise sexism and racism, wage war and promote constant conflicts, men without love who sanction murder in God’s name, the ones who would easily kill you without mercy to impose their beliefs and maintain their power, are really the best mediators between you and your God. It is also worth asking whether the concentration on the afterlife is not an excuse to to evade our real responsibilities to each other here on earth. Obviously, we don’t have to strive for love, understanding and togetherness now because should we kill, maim and pillage, a vengeful God, who is on our side, is waiting to forgive us when we die! “The Church is put into the world not to live on past history but to make history,” said Graham Kendrick, the hymn writer. I couldn’t agree more. But what new history is being made by an obsession with past prophets, past books and past values which increasingly disregard our own achievements, which negate our vibrant and diverse present, which puts religion above us and denies us our unique future? What You Need To Know About All Inclusive Wedding Packages

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

By Nicola Ray With thousands of all inclusive wedding packages available, your options are endless. From grand country house hotels to some of the larger hotel chains, virtually all hotels will offer some kind of great value wedding package. There are many great reasons to use an all inclusive wedding package from a hotel for your reception. But where do you start, how do you decide which is right for you and what should you be looking out for? Location, location, location The first thing to start thinking about is where you want your reception. The obvious choices are near your home, your parents home, your fiancs home or somewhere in between. If there are no places that strike a chord and you dont mind travelling, then perhaps select a pretty English county and start there. The internet showcases venues The next step is to get online and start searching. Most hotels these days have a website to showcase their facilities. Youll also get the low-down on their wedding services and be able to request a wedding pack. Select up to 10 hotels (any more will just be bewildering) and start talking to them. Talk to the hotels When you begin to talk to the hotels, there are several things you need to have in mind. First and foremost, think about whether they are within your budget! Ask whether they have a minimum spend or a minimum number of guests that you need to invite. This will allow you to quickly and easily filter which are suitable. If they dont have these minimum requirements, then try and find out some sample prices for their weddings. Hotels often use a cost per head charge, so multiply this by your number of guests and youll have a rough idea of their charges and whether or not they fit within your budget. If theyre not likely to fall within your budget, move on fast and go down your list until you find one that is! Dont be put off by a 5 star hotel. Just because its 5 start luxury, doesnt mean they wont have a package to suit you keep an open mind. Ask about packages There are often different packages available or you can create a tailored package. Each element you include will vary the cost significantly, so you can flex the package as necessary to keep within your budget. Make sure you ask about the different options available and find out exactly whats included. By changing a few small elements of your reception, you may be able to have that dream location at a price youre happy with. Meet the hotel wedding planner Most hotels have a member of staff dedicated to ensuring that your wedding goes without a hitch. If you go down the route of a hotel reception, then the hotel wedding planner is going to be your best friend for the next year. Since this is the case, you need to make sure you trust them to make your big day perfect, they can manage your budget, theyre open and honest with you, theyre flexible with your arrangements and most importantly you have a good relationship with them. After all, youre just about to entrust them with a load of your hard earned cash and so a good relationship with the planner is critical to choosing your venue. Check out the catering Finally, its worthwhile asking about the catering at this stage as well. The hotels should be able to supply you with sample menus and costs for each. Think about whether you like the sound of the dishes and of course if the prices are to your taste. If youre thinking about supplying your own drinks, its essential to ask about corkage costs at this stage youll be surprised how high these costs can be! The last word By asking about these few things when selecting a hotel for your wedding reception, you should be able to quickly rule out which venues are right for your all inclusive wedding package and which are not.
